Baby Kaiser loves our Kombuchas and Kefirs and he's only 6 months old :D
For Mums
Can I take Kombucha/Kefir when I'm pregnant?
If you have been taking probiotics before or during your pregnancy, you can continue to take probiotic food such as kombucha and kefir. If you haven't, then you may want to consult with your doctor on this.
In what way is probiotics beneficial to my child and me?
Probiotics in the form of natural food is considered very beneficial to pregnant women and their babies.
According to women's health specialists, pregnant mothers are exceptionally prone to bacterium strep which can be passed to the baby and can cause an infection. Not only that, nursing mothers may develop such infection in the breast and pass it to their babies through breastfeeding. The probiotics in milk kefir and kombucha can prevent the overgrowth of this bacterium called Group B Beta Strep.
Pregnant and nursing mums are advised to take natural probiotic food in order to absorb essential nutrients, increase immunity and aid the body’s adjustment to hormonal changes. Hormonal imbalances cause problems often in the form of irritating and even life threatening infections, such as yeast overgrowth, caused by depletion of good bacteria. Fortunately, probiotic-filled beverages can help prevent and even treat many such infections.
The experimental benefits are not only for mums but can also be passed on to the unborn child and through breastfeeding to nursing babies.

For Nursing Mums
Kefir and Kombucha are exceptionally beneficial for nursing mums as the regular consumption helps to render foods consumed more bioavailable to the body. Kefir and Kombucha also helps to promote better absorption of proteins and amino acids in the mother's body, indirectly providing more nutrients to the baby.
